Shihab is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth since 2015. Formerly, locum consultant at Central Manchester Royal Infirmary NHS Trust. Shihab worked as a senior clinical lecturer at Kings College London Dental Institute where he completed his senior registrar training at King’s, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals between 2008 and 2014. Whilst he was working at King’s College London Dental Institute, Shihab was the director of the MSc programme in Advanced General Dental Practice. Shihab specializes in complex and advanced treatments in Restorative and Implant dentistry including all aspects of oral reconstruction for head and neck cancer, hypodontia and trauma patients. Following his completion of Masters and PhD degree in Restorative dentistry at Manchester University Dental Hospital 2002, Shihab carried out 5 years (2003-2007) training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery within different Hospitals in Essex, South Wales and North West England. He also worked as a clinical fellow in Restorative dentistry, Oral Surgery and IV sedation at Manchester School of Dentistry and Manchester Royal infirmary between 2007-2008. Shihab is certified by the Minnesota Board of Dentistry following the successful completion of the American/Minnesota Dental Board Exams 2004. Shihab is heavily involved in teaching and training dentists and dental care professionals and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally with many papers published in international conferences and peer review journals. Shihab also maintains his private practice in central London along with his consultant job at Queen Alexandra Hospital. He accepts referrals for all aspects of Endodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry. Shihab established the London Dental Academy in 2017 as he is always passionate about teaching dentistry and he firmly believes that sharing knowledge and clinical experience are important aspects in improving patient’s care and job satisfactions for all members of the dental team.
